Karlie Sunday Brunch Dress

Summer isn’t over yet! And trust me, you need this Karlie Sunday brunch dress!  There’s so many pretty colors in it that it does all the work for you. If you’re like me and want to look cute but you don’t feel like trying too hard to put together an outfit because it usually ends in “I have nothing to wear,” this is the perfect dress to throw on and look like you’ve got your ish together. I will wear it for date nights, going out (if I ever do lol), and even church. I know this dress is selling out fast so grab yours now! Also, use FABMIRANDA for 10% off and free shipping. (I’m wearing a medium.) I paired it with these amazing wedges I just got from Charleston, but if you’re not as short as I am it will also look great with sandals. My shoes are now 50% off! You can find them here. I spent the weekend at the beach with my family, trying to get some sun (notice the burnt chest. ouch.) I hope everyone had a blessed weekend! (:

"Does This Make Me Look Like a Prisoner??"

Dress: TJ Maxx//necklace//earrings
So a real quick sad story to start off... Hayden is moving to Arizona for a school year to finish his second *eye roll* degree. Keep me in your prayers everyone! Hopefully I will be able to see him once a month.
So to have a little getaway before he leaves this Saturday *freak out* we went to downtown Wilmington and had the sweetest time.
We discovered the cutest little Panamanian restaurant for lunch in Wrightsville called Ceviche's where we tried different Ceviches and basically everything on the menu. We had dinner at Elijah's on the waterfront downtown and then went on a ghost tour!
The next day we shopped around downtown and had an awesome dinner at Circa 1922 before heading home. Definitely recommend all three of those!
And I always love buying these flowers from the people that make them out of palms when I am in Charleston so I was excited to find a man making them here!
We had a nice little weekend filled with romance(: (Hayden's favorite thing hehe)

And like always... TJ Maxx does it again

New Finds!

Y'all, this outfit (shirt, shorts, shoes) is $34!!!
I got these shorts on sale at Old Navy for $10. I really didn't think I was going to like them when I bought them, but they feel like I'm wearing my athletic shorts that I like to wear everyday.
They're not $10 anymore, but they're on sale and you can get them for an extra 30% off today using code TICKTOCK.

To go with my comfy shorts, I added my new comfy shirt! I've already told y'all how much I am into shirts from TJ Maxx lately. They have been doing such a good job with having cute, inexpensive, and SOFT shirts. TJ Maxx's are a hit or miss, you never know what you might find, so you might not be able to still find this shirt (only $14.99) but definitely go see what you can find!

And my favorite part of this outfit are these shoes. There is a new store at our mall called Altar'd State. You might have heard of it before. But their clothes are made out of recycled materials and they are a very openly Christian company. They play Christian music, have Bible verses on the walls, lots of cross jewelry, and Christian books for sale. That just makes me happy (: The clothes are mostly a little too "boho" for me but I found these shoes on sale for NINE DOLLARS. #dying

And who doesn't love a rooftop marg? (;
{necklace}

Well, those are my recent finds. Have you guys found any recent bargains you're excited about?!
Hope you like this outfit!

How To Celebrate: A Tutorial

Everyone has their favorite way to unwind and celebrate after crossing the finish line of whatever they've been working towards. For me, last week it was finishing finals and my first semester of nursing school. Fun summer huh?? Well, after hearing how I celebrated, you will probably think i'm 35 years old and not a junior in college, but that's okay (;
1. Put on your sunglasses and walk (or drive) home and realize how much nicer the world looks now that finals, the job interview, the work week, etc. is behind you. It's much prettier, I promise.
2. Sit on the couch, look out the window for a few minutes, soaking in that you have nothing that you have to study or work on anymore, and thank God it is BEHIND you. At least for now.
3. Wait till the boyfriend, husband, best friend, sister, mom, WHOEVER comes by with a bag full of your favorite snacks for the night in. Or, if you're a strong independent woman that don't need no man go get your pretty self in the car and get it yourself #ygg
This is what was in my goodie bag
Meat and cheese and wine is my and Hayden's FAVORITE. (The salmon is Hayden's not mine ewie) Of course, you are celebrating so you MUST add Champagne. And if it's a big accomplishment and you're a hoarder like me, then wash the bottle and save it. Also, I am spoiled, and always have pretty flowers because Hayden rocks. Again, flowers does not equal boyfriend. If you don't have a boyfriend or if you're boyfriend lives far away from you (like Hayden is about to be), or if your boyfriend doesn't buy you flowers, go buy yourself some flowers, YOU DESERVE IT. I've done that many times hehe.
4. Now that you have supplies for your crazy night in, go get some gooodd food. But before you do that, put on whatever you bought yourself this week to get you through it or as a celebratory gift to yourself. You did do that right?? Go do it now if you forgot.

What's new? This ($16!!) shirt and the Kendra Scott necklace that I got at the Nordstrom sale.
This isn't a very good picture, but it was raining outside :(
Just put on whatever outfit makes you happy.
5. Go to a new restaurant you've been wanting to try or go to your favorite restaurant.
6. Come home, turn on some happy music, and pop that champagne! And once that is gone... open the wine. Hopefully you have someone to share this with, but if you want it all to yourself, that's fine too.
7. Relax and give yourself a booty bump, you did it!

Well friends, that's how I celebrated. How do you like to celebrate??

New Bathtime Necessities

So this weekend I picked up a couple bath time goodies that I love so much I have to share with y'all! I kept stealing my sister's body shop coconut body butter at the beach this weekend (because it's amazing too!) and when I went to ulta to buy my own I came across Tree Hut she's body butter in coconut lime. It was less than half the price of the body shop butter (6.50 I think) and after using it I even think it feels and smells better!! It's safe to say I am obsessed with this stuff after a weekend of being dried out by salt and sun. I also picked up a bag of their coconut lime Epsom salt because it has all the benefits of Epsom salt, plus it's moisturizing (seriously) and it smells delish. And for only $6 for that huge bag!

And my favorite addition to my life, and therefore bath time, is "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young. Yes I am finally jumping on the band wagon. I love this little book and if you're thinking about trying it I would definitely recommend it. It's short and sweet and the words are spoken through the point of view of God so I get my daily dose of a calming, motivational, loving voice from God.
If anyone has any questions about something you see on my table I'll be happy to answer.
Well, time to get out the tub and slap on some body butter!
Night y'all,
MDK

National Jewelry Day

                                                  shirt// necklace// boots
Today is National Jewelry Day, so I bought myself a House of Harlow necklace. Well, I found out it's jewelry day afterr I bought the necklace, but still it's very fitting :) I've really been wanting a House of Harlow necklace but so many people have them and it wasn't worth the money to me, but I found this color today and I haven't seen anyone with it yet so I had to get it. And I need more long necklace diversity in my life since I wear Kendra Scott necklaces literally every single day. So so excited about my purchase :)
Did y'all buy anything special for National Jewelry Day?!

New Facial Products

(creepy huh?)

So I was on the way home from Washington DC with mama (we had been visiting Hayden) and we had to stop in WalMart for a pee pee stop. While I was there I saw the IlluMask and I thought it looked really cool and it was only $30 and I ended up trying it when I got it for my birthday! I've used it almost every day since then (but i'm not perfect..) and I have noticed positive results after being hallway through the 30 uses! My skin's overall quality just seems better. It feels smoother and I have only had one blemish this week as opposed to having three. And it's been a while since i've had one. When I do get a blemish they are also not as painful, big, and red. It's sometimes hard to sit still for 15 minutes everyday, but I definitely recommend this product. (It always brings a good laugh too) You can purchase it here or find it in Ulta, Walmart, and Target.

I also have recently had my first trip into a Lush store, where I found this Catastrophe Cosmetic fresh handmade mask. I think it's so cool because they make it right there in the store with fresh fruits and ingredients and keep it on ice.  It looks so good you'll want to eat it! You have to keep it in the refrigerator to keep the ingredients from spoiling so it feels nice and cool on your skin. This one is to deep clean and prevent breakouts. Like I mentioned before, my skin's overall quality has improved and acne has decreased and I can't say if it's all from the IlluMask or all from the Lush mask, but i'd like to say they've been working together. There are a lot of other ones I want to try too!

Lastly, this moisturizer that I just purchased isn't necessarily "new" to me because I used it for a long time a while back and I swear by it, but I had to switch to a moisturizer for acne. Now that I've tamed my acne I switched back to it. I love this moisturizer because I feel like I can trust in it's quality to take good care of my skin. Mine is the oil free kind to prevent any potential acne breakouts so it's the gel version. You can shop that link or find it at the Clinique counter at Belk.

Do any of y'all use these products?!

New Weather, New Stuff

This week has been a warmish week and if you ask me, spring/summer colors can be worn year round, so i've been experimenting with transition clothing using some new favorite pieces and my obsession with Piko. (Although, I would much rather be bronzing on a tropical island like everyone else)

In my first outfit I am wearing a super comfy and soft Piko dress, which I accented with my leopard Jack Rogers and Kendra Scott necklace that I've previously posted about, my Rebecca Minkoff purse that is out of stock but you can find a similar color and other colors here, and a scarf I bought in Spain two years ago. This was such a comfy and effortless outfit, it just reminded me of how badly I need to get some sun! #pasty

In the second outfit I am wearing a Piko shirt and jeans accented with the same accessories. Psst if you buy the shirt from here it's only $17, opposed to the $28 that I spent for it in stores!
I love how my new accessories have added so much style, color, and flavor to the simplicity of my two new clothing items!
hope you like!

New Fashion Pieces

These two pieces have been recently featured in my last couple instagram posts. In the spring/summer I pretty much only wear Jack Rogers and my Tory Burch sandals. I cried when I saw these leopard Jack Rogers in Nordstrom last year (not really but I got really excited). I got these for Christmas and have just now been able to (barely) get away with wearing them. I can no longer find them on jackrogers.com but I found them here in a lot of sizes. If you have a Nordstrom in your area, you can probably find them there as well.
"As far as i'm concerned, leopard is a neutral."

Another one of my new favorites is my Kendra Scott Rayne necklace in turquoise that I got for my birthday. Their Rayne necklaces are my best friend; I wear one almost every single day… Turquoise is such a bright and pretty color that goes with almost anything and after pink and leopard it is my favorite color. You can find it here!
